Members of the Odessa Police Department's Community Response Unit helped the Explorers learn how to properly interview victims, begin a criminal investigation, and fill in necessary forms for an initial report. This process is vital to the investigation process as a reporting officer is responsible for gathering necessary information to help identify, locate, and apprehend suspects of criminal offenses.
The next Explorer's Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at the Odessa Police Department. The topic of instruction for next meeting includes Vice and Narcotic Investigations, with special guest instructors from the OPD Narcotics Unit.
Recruiting for the Explorer Program is on a continuous basis and interested high school students (Freshman and above) are encouraged to participate.
